Credit Card Debt Consolidation

Credit cards were such a big part of American Debt Girl's life since childhood, it was difficult when she was on her own and had maxed hers out. She had been using daddy's credit cards for so long that she had no concept of how credit worked. She didn't even have a good concept of what things should cost as opposed to what they shouldn't cost. For example, you should never pay $400 for a pair of shoes, no matter who the designer is! Fortunately for her, she found a credit card debt consolidation program to help her out of debt. She also enrolled in a credit counseling program so she could learn about what things should and shouldn't cost.

As we explained before, American Debt Girl grew up with every advantage. Her parents thought she was on the right path until she ditched her fiancee at the alter. Now she's on her own, independent and loving it. One evening, someone knocked on her door. It was her sister, American Hippie Chick. American Hippie Chick had spent her youth being somewhat rebellious. It wasn't a huge issue with their parents except when she got a tattoo and started burning incense and that kind of thing. On the upside, she had always been a little more sensible than American Debt Girl. She never spent a lot of money, and she even worked in a record store while she was in high school. Even at such a young age, she was somewhat independent, and that made her parents proud (especially her dad). She was older than American Debt Girl, and American Debt Girl always secretly admired her for being able to take care of herself. She also wondered why she was the way she was when daddy was clearly able to provide, but whatever!

American Hippie Chick's Debt Story
American Hippie Chick was smart. She often asked her dad for financial advice, but not money. Eventually she saved up enough money to make a down payment on a house. This was not a girl who needed debt consolidation loans. It wasn't a big house, but it was cute. Of course, she wanted to decorate it, but modestly. She ended up needing furniture and appliances she didn't have before, so a lot of big-ticket items and smaller things went on her credit cards. She began to enjoy this, but before she even realized it, she was in debt up to her eyeballs. She remembered teasing American Debt Girl about not being able to shop anymore since daddy cut her off, but now she sort of understood.

Concerned about her situation, she turned to American Debt Girl who had previously confided her trouble with credit card debt to American Hippie Chick. American Debt Girl had enough trouble, in fact, to warrant a trip to a debt consolidation company. She explained that she enrolled in a credit card debt consolidation program. "What's that? How's it work?" American Hippie Chick asked.

"Well, once you enroll in a credit card debt consolidation program, an agent from the company contacts your creditors to get your balances reduced and your interest rates lowered. Then they roll all your monthly credit card payments into one, and you just pay the credit card debt consolidation company. The payment is very affordable, too. And, because of the lower balances and interest rates, you can have your debt paid off in about five years. You should go see if a credit card debt consolidation will work for you. You might find out that credit card debt consolidation loans are a better option though. Those are good too."

"It sounds like credit card debt consolidation can give me all the help I'll need." With that, American Hippie Chick went to the debt consolidation company that her friend suggested to see if she could enroll in a credit card debt consolidation program too. In the end, she got a debt consolidation loan instead, but it all worked out.
